The Spring Festival is the most important festival for Chinese people. The Chinese attach great importance to the family and want the family to get together to welcome the new year. There are many customs during the Spring Festival: for example, the elderly in your family will give you lucky money in red envelopes, you and your family will have New Year’s Eve dinner together, set off fireworks, set off firecrackers, make and eat dumplings. Chinese New Year is fun! During Chinese New Year, you can say Happy New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai to each other.

Every December 25th is Christmas. Christmas is a very important festival in the world. During this time, the family reunite and celebrate happiness. Christmas customs include gift giving, turkey dinner, Christmas cookies, mince pies and more. Christmas is cool. At Christmas you can say Merry Christmas to each other.

The similarity between Chinese New Year and Christmas is that you can eat a lot of delicious food, they are both very important festivals and they are celebrated with family. I think Spring Festival and Christmas are both good festivals. The difference is that Christmas always falls on the same day, and Chinese New Year falls on a different day every year. On this day of the Spring Festival, you will set off firecrackers and fireworks.
