Alice (Y10) has translated the beautiful poem \u201cMatin d\u2019Octobre\u201d by Fran\u00e7ois Copp\u00e9e<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the slumberous summer afternoons gradually become darker and colder, and the soft summer air sharpens into a brisk biting breeze, we are suddenly reminded of the fast-approaching presence of winter, as October slowly starts to approach. This seasonal change is expressed in Fran\u00e7ois Copp\u00e9e\u2019s poem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matin D\u2019Octobre <\/p>\n\n\n\n

C\u2019est l\u2019heure exquise et matinale  
Que rougit un soleil soudain. 
A travers la brume automnale 
Tombent les feuilles du jardin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leur chute est lente. On peut les suivre 
Du regard en reconnaissant 
Le ch\u00eane \u00e0 sa feuille de cuivre, 
L\u2019\u00e9rable \u00e0 sa feuille de sang. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les derni\u00e8res, les plus rouill\u00e9es, 
Tombent des branches d\u00e9pouill\u00e9es\u202f: 
Mais ce n\u2019est pas l\u2019hiver encor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une blonde lumi\u00e8re arrose 
La nature, et, dans l\u2019air tout rose, 
On croirait qu\u2019il neige de l\u2019or. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is the exquisite and early hour of the morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The sudden sunrise ignites the sky, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the autumn mist <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The leaves of the garden fall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their fall is slow. One can follow them <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With your gaze and recognize  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The oak with its leaves of copper, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The maple with its leaves of blood, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last ones, the rustier ones, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fall off the bare branches, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it is not yet winter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A golden light dapples down on <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nature and in all the blush air <\/p>\n\n\n\n
