Traditionally, they have\nimages in relation to the Bible but with our ongoing modernising society, most\ncommonly, they are sold with toys and chocolates, just like in Britain. When the\ntime for advent calendars begin, in France, the local Postman or fireman goes\naround door to door delivering these advent calendars. The french call these people \u2018Almanach du facteur\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>En Fran\u00e7ais<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Maintenant, les calendriers de l&#8217;Avent sont un must en France pour tous ces enfants avides. Traditionnellement, ils ont des images en rapport \u00e0 la Bible, mais avec notre soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de modernisation en cours, le plus souvent, ils sont vendus avec des jouets et des chocolats, tout comme en Grande-Bretagne. Lorsque l&#8217;heure des calendriers de l&#8217;avent commence, en France, le facteur ou le pompier local fait du porte-\u00e0-porte pour livrer ces calendriers de l&#8217;avent. Les fran\u00e7ais appellent cela &#8216;Almanach du facteur&#8217;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Le Sapin de No\u00ebl<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Christmas Tree has\nevolved to be for all faiths during christmas time in France.&nbsp; They\ndecorate their trees with ornamentations, bells, fairy light and, one can never\nforget the star. Fir trees are commonly used for christmas tree\u2019s in France,\njust like here in England.&nbsp; The Christmas tree first made an appearance in\nAlsace in 1521 and has since taken up the modern traditions and development.\nThey commonly put up their tree on the 1st of December but it varies on the\nexcitement of people and how eager they are for christmas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>En Fran\u00e7ais<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>L&#8217;arbre de Noel a \u00e9volu\u00e9 pour \u00eatre pour toutes les religions pendant le temps des f\u00eates en France. Ils d\u00e9corent leurs arbres avec des ornementations, des cloches, des guirlandes lumineuses et, on ne doit jamais l\u2019oublier&nbsp;: l&#8217;\u00e9toile. Les sapins sont couramment utilis\u00e9s pour les sapins en France, comme ici en Angleterre. Le sapin a fait son apparition en Alsace en 1521 et a depuis repris les traditions et le d\u00e9veloppement modernes. Ils sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement mis en place le 1er D\u00e9cembre, mais cela varie en fonction de l&#8217;enthousiasme des gens et de leur impatience pour Noel.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Saint Nicolas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Now, Santa is a huge part of a french Christmas but most families still believe in Saint Nicolas and the Bogeyman.&nbsp; Saint Nicolas is the foundation and root of Santa and he spells good children what they want and uses his magic for providing families with a happy christmas. The Boogeyman is depicted covered in coal. They dress up in black to portray him. He is effectively the counterpart to Saint Nicolas, delivering coal to all the naughty children. Saint Nicolas provides presents on the 6th of December, the start of christmas for traditional people.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>En Fran\u00e7ais<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Le p\u00e8re Noel est une grande partie d&#8217;un Noel fran\u00e7ais, mais la plupart des familles croient encore en la Saint Nicolas et le P\u00e8re Fouettard. Saint Nicolas est la fondation et la racine du P\u00e8re No\u00ebl et il demande aux enfants sages ce qu&#8217;ils veulent et utilise sa magie pour fournir aux familles un joyeux Noel. Le P\u00e8re Fouettard est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 couvert de charbon. Il s&#8217;habille en noir pour le d\u00e9peindre. Il est effectivement le contraire de Saint Nicolas, livrant du charbon \u00e0 tous les enfants coquins. Saint Nicolas offre des cadeaux le 6 d\u00e9cembre, le d\u00e9but des f\u00eates de fin d&#8217;ann\u00e9e pour les gens traditionnels.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Fireplace<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of the\nChristmas tree, french children use their fireplace to keep their carrots and\nmilk. The hand stockings and occasionally leave pastries for Santa. More\nrecently, they have used their christmas trees to store presents and food. Some\nargue that the fireplace is more convenient so the food is right there when\nSanta is down the chimney and he doesn\u2019t have to waddle to the christmas\ntree.&nbsp; Others say that having the food by the fireplace could jeopardize\nthe space Santa requires to get in and out swiftly. Nevertheless, both\nchristmas tree and fireplace are used to store presents and food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La chemin\u00e9e<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Au lieu de l&#8217;arbre de No\u00ebl, les enfants fran\u00e7ais utilisent leur foyer pour y mettre leurs carottes et leur lait. Les chaussettes et parfois laisser des p\u00e2tisseries pour le P\u00e8re No\u00ebl. Plus r\u00e9cemment, ils ont utilis\u00e9 leurs sapins pour entreposer des cadeaux et de la nourriture. Certains soutiennent que la chemin\u00e9e est plus pratique de sorte que la nourriture est juste l\u00e0 quand le P\u00e8re Noel est en bas de la chemin\u00e9e et il n&#8217;a pas \u00e0 se dandiner vers l&#8217;arbre de No\u00ebl. D&#8217;autres disent que d&#8217;avoir la nourriture par la chemin\u00e9e pourrait mettre en p\u00e9ril l&#8217;espace dont Santa a besoin pour entrer et sortir rapidement.
