Festival di Sanremo 2025 

Cecilia (Y7) writes about a pre-Eurovision competition happening in Sanremo, Italy. The competition starts on the 11^th of February and takes place every year. 

Cos’è il Festival di Sanremo? 

Il Festival di Sanremo è una competizione canora in cui 25 cantanti si sfidano per un posto per rappresentare l’Italia all’Eurovision. Questo concorso si svolge ogni anno a febbraio. Quest’anno ricorre la settantaseiesima edizione del Festival di Sanremo. Questa competizione si svolge nell’arco di una settimana e la decisione di chi vince è del pubblico, quindi se sei interessato a guardare, la puoi guardare. E il giorno della finale puoi anche votare! Ci sono diversi turni: i primi due giorni canti la tua canzone, e gli altri giorni farai duetti, e il giorno della Grand Finale, tutti si esibiranno la stessa sera, e poi il pubblico potrà votare dai loro telefoni. Questo è uno degli spettacoli più visti in Italia, e nella finale, lo spettacolo finisce verso le 3 del mattino, eppure tutti lo guardano ancora! 

What is the Festival of Sanremo? 

The Festival of Sanremo is a singing competition where 25 singers compete for a place to stand for Italy at Eurovision. This contest takes place in February every year. This year’s marks the 76^th edition of the Festival of Sanremo. This competition takes place over a week and the decision of who wins is to the public so if you are interested in watching you can watch and on the day of the final you can also vote! There are different rounds: the first couple days you sing your song and other days you will do duets and on the day of the Grand Final everyone will perform on the same night and then the public can vote from their phones. This is one of the most watched shows in Italy and on the final the show ends towards 3am in the morning yet everyone still watches all of it!
